Sustainability

The fashion industry is one of the most polluting in the world, consuming enormous amounts of natural resources, emitting carbon, and generating waste that harms the environment. But we believe it's possible to do things differently.

At Khiara, sustainability is not just a choice – it’s an urgent necessity. Some of our pieces are made from recycled fabrics derived from fishing nets removed from the oceans. We use recycled polyamide (eco-nylon), a material that reduces the dependence on virgin resources like oil and helps decrease plastic waste in landfills and seas.

But sustainability goes beyond materials. We believe in ethical and responsible practices, ensuring fair working conditions and dignified wages for everyone involved in the production of our pieces. Each item is carefully handcrafted in an atelier in the north of Portugal, where the environment is warm and family-like.

Small actions lead to big changes. Choosing sustainable pieces, reducing waste, and adopting more conscious consumption are essential steps toward a greener, more balanced future. And you, will you join us in this mission?
